William was born in Montreal to Charles and Emilie Coutu. During is lifetime he saw Montreal grow from 140 thousand to over 800 thousand. It was a great time to be a carpenter to support his growing family. He died young at the age of 47 while visiting St Bruno. His oldest child was just 17 at that time. 1921 census

Georgianna had 9 kids with William before he died in 1927 leaving her to care for their children. She ended up marring her brother-in-law Armand Nobert (1891-1977) after her sister Celestine past away in 1947. She died at age 88 was buried at St-Francois d'Assise cemetery.
