Robert was the ninth child born in the Inkerman area to Robert and Margaret Corrigan. His father died when he was still a toddler. He must of aquired taloring skills as we find he is listed in the 1881 census working as a talor in Prescott Ontario and living with the McAdam's family. He married Lottie Pillar on 18 May 1881 in Russell Ontario. He contiued to support his family with taloring but switched to real estate agent by 1901. The 1916 census Has Robert, Lottie and two youngest children living in Calgary with Robert being an real estate investor. This moved may have been prompted by his daughter Grace move to Calgary as well as his eldest brother A.J. Lottie died in the winter of 1916 at the age 57. Her youngest Lexus was 14 at the time. After Lottie died, he remarried Flo Robertson. 1 By the 1921 census Robert had remarried with his new wife, mother-inlaw and his youngest living in Calgary. He died of bacterial endocarditis in Fordson, MI. The most common cause of death in patients with bacterial endocarditis is heart failure. He was visiting his son Lexus at the time.
